Feature Requests

Since FacilityBot already provides a changelog, I would like to suggest including notices about updates or upgrades that could affect current features. This would help end users stay informed whenever a function may not work as expected due to an ongoing update. For example, if a certain feature will be temporarily unavailable, may encounter issues, or is under system upgrade, it would be very helpful if this information is reflected in the changelog as well. That way, users are aware in advance and can manage their expectations accordingly. This additional detail in the changelog will increase transparency and improve user experience, as users will know whether a feature is intentionally unavailable due to system changes, rather than assuming it is a technical issue on their end.

To collect official data, consent, acknowledgments, or agreements from individuals (e.g., road users, staff, contractors) that require formal signatures and a documented record. Core Functionality: Custom Form Builder Enhancements Signature Capture & Validation: Automated PDF Generation: Upon form submission (and all required signatures collected), automatically generate a PDF document of the completed form. Automated Email Distribution: This auto-responder should send an email to a specified email address (e.g., an email field within the form, or a predefined recipient). The automatically generated PDF of the completed and signed form should be attached to this email. Storage & Access: The completed and signed PDF forms should be accessible and downloadable by authorized FacilityBot users (e.g., form creator, admins) within the FacilityBot platform, linked to the original submission record. Introduce a File Storage Management feature within FacilityBot to allow users to: Upload, store, and manage monthly PDF reports or other important documents. Add custom labels/tags (e.g., "January Report", "Electrical Inspection", "2025-Q1 Report") to organize and easily retrieve uploaded files. Functionality: 1) Upload functionality accessible via Web Portal under a dedicated "File Storage" or "Documents" section. 2) Option to assign labels/tags and categorize files by: Month/Year Location Department Report Type 3) Ability to filter, search, and download files based on labels/tags. 4) Role-based access controls: Admins can configure which user roles can upload, view, or delete files. 5) Optional file size limits and storage usage monitoring. A dedicated "Item Booking" feature, parallel to our Facilities Booking feature. This feature should encompass a comprehensive history log, including the user, date, and time of each booking. It should also include controls for specifying the quantity of items that can be booked, defining maximum and minimum item quantities per booking, and maintaining an up-to-date record of item availability.

Add a new feature which allows Facility Managers to list their keys to be issued, who the key was issued to, when the key was released and when it was returned

Introduce a file-sharing feature within FacilityBot where managers can upload files or folders to a shared space. This feature would allow managers to create shareable links, enabling anyone with the link to view the files or folders. This functionality would mimic the ease and accessibility of platforms like Google Drive, making file management more efficient for teams. [Guthrie x PA]
